‘EAOGS 2018 will allow us to gain invaluable insights and knowledge from each other, identifying the challenges facing the industry and providing solutions’

Principal Secretary Andrew N. Kamau, of the State Department of Petroleum, has urged companies to ‘actively participate’ in the 5th edition of East Africa Oil & Gas Summit 2018 (EAOGS) when it returns to the region 14-15th June in Nairobi.

In an official letter of support, P.S Kamau stated; “Following the undoubted success of the first four editions, in attracting international investors from around the world, EAOGS has attracted major international investors for oil and gas in East Africa. The growth and importance of this event as an annual platform for business has been clearly demonstrated, with an outstanding 380 regional and international companies attending the last event, making EAOGS the one event that all companies involved in our sector must attend. As we look forward to the EAOGS 2018, we call on all our partners and investors throughout the East African region to actively participate.”

Speaking of the significance of the event’s location, he added; “Nairobi continues to be a natural host for EAOGS, as a centre of excellence and commercial hub for the oil and gas sector through East Africa.” Concluding; “This year promises much for our industry to look forward to, as Kenya and our neighbouring countries continue to enjoy exploration successes and we look forward to continuing our programme towards production. We are excited about how our industry will grow over the coming years and we look forward to you all being a part of our future in helping us to develop our industry for the benefit of all.”

The Ministry’s full letter of support can be read here on the official EAOGS website http://eaogs.com/endorsement-letter.

EAOGS is the largest event of its kind in East Africa and will examine the key topics that affect the rapidly advancing oil and gas industry throughout East Africa. It is organised by the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (EACCIA), alongside UK based conference and events specialist Global Event Partners.

New for 2018, the event will also be partnering with the Upstream Oil & Gas Awards to host the special industry awards on 15th June. The awards will bring together leading players in the oil and gas ecosystem, recognising the achievements by local and international companies involved in the upstream oil and gas value chain in the country.
