James Ndungu Mureu, an East African National, is a businessman based in Mombasa. After having worked at the Central Bank of Kenya for 14 years, James founded Master Conveyors Ltd; a freight forwarding company that later became a reputable regional logistics company. In 2001, he relocated to Australia and launched Treasures of Africa marketing and promoting Kenyan Tea and coffee in Australia. Mr. Mureu successfully launched Kenyan tea and coffee into the Australian market and whilst there, also worked as the liaison officer for the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry handling most trade related issues on behalf of the Kenyan High Commission as de’facto trade attaché. In 2003, he was invited by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to join the team that was designing a new export promotion strategy document.
Mr Mureu is currently the Managing Director of Prolong Paints Kenya Ltd and Mastrade Holdings Ltd. He is also the Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & industry (KNCCI), Mombasa County Branch. He is a non-executive director at the Mombasa Water Company. Mr. Mureu was nominated by Chamber of Commerce to represent them on the Board of the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (EACCIA) and is currently its Board Chairman.
