Martin Mbogo is currently the Tullow Kenya Managing Director, a position he has held since 2011 having previously served as the General Manager at Africa Oil Kenya B.V. (a Lundin Group company).
Mr Mbogo has extensive senior level experience having previously held a series of positions at Unilever and ExxonMobil based in Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Belgium with responsibility over diverse segments of the business across Africa & Middle East. In those positions, Martin has been instrumental in building high performance teams and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships with a wide cross-section of stakeholders. Mr Mbogo is the current and founder Chairman of the Kenya Oil & Gas Association (KOGA).
Mr Mbogo has been a key player in establishing the country as a viable oil province in the international arena and was a key force behind the exploration programme that discovered oil in Turkana in March 2012 - a major milestone for both the country in general and Tullow Kenya BV in particular.
Mr Mbogo has since then been actively involved in further oil and gas exploration, appraisal and development programmes to expand the resource base and also the process of establishing the most economically viable business models of commercialisation of the resources. Additional, Mr Mbogo has played a lead role in shaping the oil and gas industry in matters of awareness, education, and capacity building. He is currently involved in working on the oil and gas development phase of which potentially represents is a multibillion dollar investment in the country.
