Ricardo Aboud is a Civil Engineer, graduated by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in 1983, with specialization in Soil Mechanics. Started in the oil and gas industry with Dowell Schlumberger in February 1984. In 1987 he joined BJ Services in Brazil. BJ Services was later acquired by Baker Hughes in 2009. During these 25 years, he took different roles in engineering, operations, sales and management. He authored and co-authored more than 15 published technical articles on well construction and well completions, and was a Distinguished Lecturer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) during 2011-2012 term, on the topic of “deep-water cementing of oil & gas wells”. He joined GE Oil & Gas in April 2013 as Commercial Leader for East Africa. Initially based in Maputo, Mozambique. His current role adds the Southern Africa Region. Ricardo has had the opportunity to work as a resident in 12 different countries: UAE, India, Kuwait, Bangladesh, USA, Brazil, Vietnam, Angola, Spain, Mozambique, Tanzania, and now Kenya.
