Steven Lunt is the Medical Director for Assistance and Air Ambulance in the Johannesburg assistance center and has been working for International SOS for the past 13 years. He holds an MBBCh degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. In addition, he holds a tertiary qualification as a paramedic, and additional post-graduate qualifications in Physiology and Emergency Medicine. He has accumulated just over 25 years of experience in the emergency medical services, aeromedical services and international medical assistance. He fulfills a medical managerial role in a multiplatform environment with exposure to various industries including the offshore oil and gas industry; remote site work environments; the commercial maritime industry; the commercial aviation industry; emergency medical evacuations and  travel medicine, in addition to direct medical oversight of the dedicated air ambulance service based out of Lanseria International Airport.
