Uganda

Hon. Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu is the Ugandan Minister of State for Environment and the Woman Member of Parliament of Manafwa District, Uganda. She has extensive work experience as a professional in the field of environmental information systems and management, with skillsets in remote sensing, GIS, and environmental modelling.

As a professional, she has carried out environmental assessments, geotechnical assessments, disaster and vulnerability assessments, and environmental monitoring. As a public official, she has utilized those skillsets at the local and national level.

Minister Kitutu has participated in activities with international organizations such as the United Nations, Intergovernmental Authority on Development, East African Community, and the African Union. She holds a BS in Geology and Chemistry, an MSc in Environment Systems Analysis and Monitoring, and a PhD in science.
